Dhneki Chhata Rice (ঢেঁকি ছাঁটা চাল)
If we can get back in time, we might find rural women using the traditional agricultural tool Dhneki to thresh the paddy grains so that the outer husk separates from the rice grains. The rhythmic sound of the Dhneki with the tinkling sound of the bangles on their hands is nothing but nostalgia. The process produces fresh, unpolished, and probably the healthiest brown rice. Boil and cook the hand-pounded rice grains perfectly and experience how bold, chewy, yet uniquely tasty it is. A spread on your table with rice of such unique colour and flavour will surely invite astonishment filled gapes from your guests.
